This person will lead the global tax planning and transfer pricing function for a U.S. based multi-national retailing company.  Responsibilities will include:
1.  Identify, design, manage and implement international, U.S. Federal and state tax planning strategies aimed at reducing the Company's effective tax rate and cash taxes.
2.  Manage and control global transfer pricing policy and compliance.
3.  Oversee and manage non-US income tax audits.
4.  Contribute to the completion of global tax provision, including taking a lead on FIN 48 analysis and the review of non-US income tax provisions.
5.  Direct the work of professional tax advisors in and outside the United States.

This person will have two direct reports (directors of international tax and non-US tax) and three indirect reports (five direct and indirect reports).  This position will report to the VP of Taxes.

In addition to being able to work with all members of the tax department, key working relationships within the company include: U.S. and non-U.S. controllers and finance directors, treasury group, legal group and human resources.

Desired Experience

*  Significant experience with international, federal, and state tax planning (e.g., foreign tax credit utilization; dual resident companies, income deferral; transfer pricing, reduction of U.S. and foreign income and withholding taxes, use of tax attributes).
*  Experience with SEC compliant tax provisions, including strong FAS 109 and FIN 48 skills.
*  10 years experience working with multi-national companies, with at least three years at a Big-4 accounting firm or major law firm.
*  Bachelors degree in accounting; CPA, MS tax or JD a plus.
*  Significant supervisory experience preferred.
*  Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.
*  Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities.
*  Strong leadership, recruiting, training, and mentoring skills.
*  Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills.
*  Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
*  Ability to travel 5% to 20% per year depending upon demand

$170 - $225K + Bonus
