Position Responsibilities

  • Grow our customer base by demoing, promoting, and selling products that meet customer needs.
  • Service existing accounts, obtain orders, and establish new accounts by planning a daily work schedule to call on existing and potential distributors and end-users.
  • Understand the needs of customers by asking open-ended questions to provide solutions and adjust product demos and business proposals according to their needs.
  • Review sales figures in PowerBI daily to determine fluctuating purchase cycles and opportunities for additional products sales.
  • Coordinate customer orders either with the distributor partner or independent of, referencing current documented reseller pricing, promotions, and product literature.
  • Provide competitive updates to management and peers by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, delivery terms and conditions, and promotions.
  • Recommend changes in products, services, and policies by evaluating results and competitive developments.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, preparing reports, and making recommendations to management.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending company-sponsored training, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in customer and industry events.
  • Contribute to the efforts of the team by understanding company goals and objectives and deliver results to help achieve these.

What would I be doing?

Territory Management

  • Maintain a two-week calendar in Outlook, with visibility to your manager, detailing how you plan to effectively use your time and manage your territory.
  • Have an objective for each end-user visit and include the scheduling of a subsequent visit so that adequate follow-up is achieved.
  • Proactively schedule 100% of your distributor and warehouse visits by scheduling an agreed upon date and time block. Have an objective for each visit and include the scheduling of a subsequent visit so that adequate follow-up is achieved.
  • Rotate field days to work with end-users, distributor reps, and warehouse customers – prioritize based on needs determined during previous visits and in accordance with performance objectives.

Administrative Obligations

  • Daily SalesForce updates to include:
    • Log and update active distributor and end-user targets, including company-wide campaigns.
    • Document new distributor proposals and concession requests for management approval.
    • Under an account’s “activity” log sales calls for important activity.
  • Submit Concur expense reports by the 3rd of each month, in accordance with INDASA’s Expense Policy (including receipts).
  • Submit monthly vacation records by the 3rd of each month – document vacation requests via Outlook calendar invites.
  • Respond to emails from Management Team or customers within 24 hours of receiving the request or by the stated due date.

Education and Experience

  • At least three years of industry-related or sales-related experience.
  • Understanding of, or interest in, the industries we serve (automotive, marine, industrial, woodworking).
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills to include Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.
