 The Accounting & FP&A Manager will have proven expertise in the areas of Financial Accounting and Financial Planning & Analysis, as the role will have responsibilities within both Accounting and FP&A.  Primarily, the role will be responsible for contributing towards the integrity of the company’s financials, participating in and executing upon a comprehensive set of internal controls, and responsibility for day-to-day and month-end closing of the financial results of company brands.

In addition, the role will be the overall financial planning, performance reporting, and decision support function over the commercial aspects of the business, including Sales and Marketing. The FP&A Finance Manager will partner with the Director of Finance to lead the overall business plan and strategic plan as well as manage the forecasts and related risks & opportunities and trade-offs to help navigate the organization in our efforts to deliver on targets.

What would I be doing?

  • Execute responsibilities around month/quarter/year-end close process to ensure timely and accurate financial statement preparation with particular attention to mandatory deadlines.
  • Compile monthly account analyses as assigned, including cash accounts, other assets, various accrual and expense accounts, etc.
  • Analyze and post entries in assigned areas, for example, depreciation, prepaid and payroll expenses.
  • Administer financial reports and maintain chart of accounts and general ledger.
  • Support the Director of Finance in the areas of Audit, Tax, & GAAP Compliance.
  • Maintain a documented system of accounting policies and operations.
  • Leverage existing tools, and develop new ones, to enable Management reporting, Dashboarding, KPIs and overall Performance Reporting best practices within the organization; this will include leveraging NetSuite Tools and potentially other BI-type tools (i.e. Domo).
  • Lead Finance in planning and related financial decisions including Sales Planning & Forecasting and Customer Profitability by being a power user of Trade Promotion Management system as it relates to Finance/Accounts Receivable.
  • Report on and provide analytic insights on Trade Investment, including Trade ROI and relevant Trade KPIs.
  • Support the annual business planning process.
  • Partner with Operations to translate the S&OP process into financial forecasts.
  • Business Reporting for Sales and Marketing: work with Sales and Marketing teams to ensure a high level of awareness of Performance Results, comparisons vs. Budgets, Forecasts, accuracy, and overall decision support.
  • Partner with Marketing & Sales to provide financial support to the innovation stage gate process, including P&L modeling.
  • Partner with Cost & Inventory Accounting Manager to develop product costing, assess and report price volume mix and margin trends within the business.
  • Work with IT and 3rd Party consultants to enhance ERP and planning tools.


What would make me qualified?

Education and Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; advanced degree and/or CPAs preferred.
  • At least 5 years of progressive experience with a combination of Accounting and FP&A; consumer-packaged goods industry experience is preferred but not required.
  • Advanced Excel knowledge
  • Strong applied knowledge of all US GAAP.
  • Balance sheet account reconciliation and analysis experience, including Bank reconciliation and amortization schedules.
  • Knowledge of Budgeting and Forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projections.
  • Demonstrated proficiency using ERP and Trade Promotion systems; NetSuite experience preferred but not required.
  • Demonstrated skills that inspire team confidence, collaboration and respect.
  • Proven strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Access, Visio).
