Why would I want this job?

The Cost Accountant is a key leader on the plant leadership team. Key responsibilities include providing overview of financial results and KPIs as well as recommendations to improve site performance and processes including coaching of the team. Also responsible for planning and coordinating plant budget and business planning activities in alignment with overall company planning calendar.

What would I be doing?

  • Partner to develop regular KPIs to understand factory performance and identify opportunities for process improvements. This includes waste, schedule adherence, productivity, labor performance vs budget, inventory turns and obsolescence.
  • Present the monthly results during the monthly review meeting with the company leadership team
  • Evaluate productivity and product cost goals and forecast for the factory and act upon results in order to achieve committed targets.
  • Prepare the factory’s annual budget.
  • Analyze the monthly deviations vs. plan and set-up action plan to mitigate any negative variation.
  • Participate actively in identifying process improvements.
  • Assist as needed with other projects.

What would make me qualified?

  • At least 10 years’ experience in a similar position with cost accounting experience
  • Consumer goods a plus.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and forecasting techniques as well as proficiency with financial statement analysis and projections.
  • Strong planning and analytical skills.
  • Demonstrate strong business acumen as related to manufacturing process and display curiosity to expand knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively cross functionally and among different levels as well as building strong relationship with the team.
  • Experience in handling multiple priorities and ability to prioritize and work independently.
  • ERP experience a plus.
