The Director of Accounting is responsible for supporting and assisting in all aspects of accounting and managing the accounting operations. The position will oversee the preparation of monthly financial information and the general ledger close process. The director will review work of Accountants and perform ad hoc special projects as needed.

What would I be doing?

  • Oversee all aspects of Accounting and Finance
  • Supervise employees performing financial reporting, accounting, billing, collections, accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Assistant Controller, A/P Manager, Credit and Collections
  • Prepare and/or direct preparation of financial statements, business activity reports, financial position forecasts, and reports required by regulatory agencies
  • Coordinate and prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial package
  • Record all Journal Entries
  • Analyze and report on variances to budget
  • Balance Sheet Analysis
  • Prepare and present annual budget to CEO and CFO
  • Monitor and record vehicle acquisition/leases and maintain fixed asset reporting
  • Prepare monthly sales tax returns
  • Advise management on short-term and long-term financial objectives, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain/update existing 5 year projections
  • Liaise with external auditors and tax accountants regarding federal and state filings and estimates
  • Responsible for year-end audit
  • Document and update operating standard procedures for key accounting processes
  • Collaborate with CFO on maintaining proper insurance levels
  • Support senior management by providing relevant accounting information as necessary
  • Actively participate in various departmental and company initiatives to implement best practices under the direction and guidance and in partnership with the CFO

What would make me qualified?

  • 8+ years of managerial accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
  • Working knowledge of all financial and business management function including AR, AP, Audit preparation, and GL management
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word and Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong analytical, interpersonal and problem-solving skills
  • Strong organizational and attention to detail abilities
  • Ability to work well with deadlines and quickly adapt to changing priorities
