Why would I want this job?

The Finance Controller reports directly to the CFO and oversees all aspects of the financial reporting including monthly close, monthly reporting to headquarters, tax reporting and liaison with the external auditors. The Finance Controller also overseas the day to day operations of AP and AR.  The Finance Controller is highly motivated, strategic, organized, and an effective collaborator who can delegate and track multiple ongoing projects and responsibilities simultaneously.

What would I be doing?

  • Conduct all financial/accounting related operation activities, responsible for general ledger, fixed assets/prepays/accruals, account reconciliations, financial statements
  • Responsible for accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close
  • Prepare financial statements and reporting tools for Executive Management and Headquarter.
  • Assist the CFO with the daily banking requirements.
  • Perform monthly cash forecast.
  • Responsible for Payroll processing (UltiPro service provider), tax filings, government agency filings for the US.
  • Supervise compilation of reports to file 1099s and corporate income tax returns
  • Lead and interface with external auditors at the year-end and interim audits
  • Audit departmental accounting data, identify and correct errors, identify and compute accruals, apply accounting principles to transactions and recommend revisions in departmental accounting procedures to ensure conformance with applicable statues, laws, and General Accepted Accounting Principles
  • Maintain the fixed asset inventory system by supervising the recording of all items in the inventory, maintaining pertinent records and ensuring adequate treatment of fixed asset acquisitions and retirements
  • Development and implementation of new procedures and features to enhance the workflow of the department.
  • Maintains financial security by establishing internal controls
  • Guide other departments by researching and interpreting accounting policy; applying observations and recommendations to operational issues
  • Oversees and leads the account receivables and account payables (AR/AP) functions
  • Supervise a Team of four associates.
  • Oversee two business units  as well as financial reporting for both the US and Canada.

 

What would make me qualified?

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 or more years of experience in Finance with strong analytical and leadership skills.
  • CPA is required.
  • Previous CPG experience is strongly preferred. Pharma experience is a plus.
  • Strong team player who manages collaboratively with all stakeholders.
  • Strong influencing and communication skills, and ability to lead informal teams.
  • Self-starter.
  • Proven ability to deliver strong results and manage tight deadlines.
  • Experience in an ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, NetSuite required.
