Objectives of the Job:


  • Ensure and drive timely, adequate and reliable monthly financial closing process for Performance Formulations business segment (PF)
  • Act as accounting & reporting business partner for PF and its management team
  • Ensure in depth review of quality and content of PF balance sheet and P&L from an IFRS accounting point of view
  • Act as IFRS accounting expert and business partner towards centrally organized functions (e.g. treasury, tax etc.) and act as company-wide expert on specific topics
  • Create, implement and maintain new accounting and reporting guidelines or procedures for PF

What would I be doing?

BU Accounting Business Partner Role


  • Act as accounting & reporting business partner for PF business segment and its management team
  • Review specific PF projects (including Asset Requisitions) and the relating approval requests on correct application of the accounting principles and guidelines
  • In depth review of quality and content of the PF balance sheet and statement of income from an IFRS accounting point of view.
  • Work together with the Regional Accounting Centers (RAC) and local controllers to ensure healthy financial position
  • Planning and organization of PF month-end closing activities, drive standard monthly closing procedures
  • Ensure timely, adequate, and reliable monthly financial closing process for PF, including management of all relevant PF consolidation and elimination adjustments in close cooperation with the RAC and Consolidation department
  • Follow-up on open accounting issues with the local reporting units and monitor on the correct and timely solution of these issues
  • Focal point for discussions with external auditors on PF accounting performance


IFRS Accounting Expert and Business Partner for Global Functions


  • Act as global IFRS accounting expert for PF business segment on technical accounting advice as well as policy interpretation and application
  • Act as the business partner to the commercial and operational finance teams in PF
  • Ensure in depth review of quality of the balance sheet and P&L items relating to complex/judgmental accounting topics
  • Focal point for discussions with external audit team on various technical topics
  • Create/maintain and implement accounting and reporting policies and guidelines on accounting topics
  • Ensure global accounting policy manual is updated and IFRS compliant on accounting topics
  • Lead projects on implementation of new standards and provide training to the local entities
  • Coordination with auditor as well as topic related discussions / alignment
  • Alignment with auditor on audit of financial statements (disclosures related)
  • Contribute to classroom trainings of the finance academy

What would make me qualified?

  • Accounting professional with 6+ years of relevant work experience in accounting and reporting, and capable of analyzing complex processes and issues under severe time pressure
  • Accounting degree with certification designation (CA, CPA or equivalent)
  • Preferably have work experience in the Big 4 and businesses · Adequate expertise knowledge in financial accounting (IFRS, accounting processes)
  • Good analytical skills and ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • SAP/HFM knowledge preferred, or at least not afraid to learn the basics of systems and hands-on mentality
  • Adequate communication, people management and interpersonal skills
  • Resourceful: ability to bring solutions and suggestions to business teams
