The Payroll Associate role is responsible for supporting US payroll operations with a primary focus on multi-state taxation compliance, payroll system auditing, and other special projects. The role reports to the Associate Director of US Payroll.

 

What would I be doing?

Serve as the program administrator to optimize compliance of the US Multi-State Tax Reporting program
Establish and load initial default set ups for active employees and future new hires
Perform periodic audits and analyze KPI metrics to assess performance trends, optimize policy compliance, identify areas for improvement, and opportunities to streamline
Provide high quality and timely customer service and payroll support for employee requests and questions, including training/re-training on the US multi state tax reporting policy, process, and system
Ensure payroll accounting policies are implemented and are being followed to ensure SOX compliance
Ensure accurate and timely preparation and distribution of payroll. Ensure accuracy of gross payroll and confirm accuracy of payroll withholdings and remittances. Ensure period-to-period reconciliations are performed and reviewed as required
Update internal company intranet website for payroll operations team
Participate in internal and external audit reviews as needed, and fulfill audit data requests
Identify and participate in process improvement projects as needed
Partner with HR Operations, HRIS, and HR Total Rewards on special projects, as needed
Assist in the preparation of public reporting disclosures for compensation matters

What would make me qualified?

4+ years of payroll operations best practice experience with solid understanding of payroll accounting processes, general accounting principles, and monthly close requirements
BA or BS recommended
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred
Hands on experience with ADP Workforce Now software, financial ERP systems, and account reconciliation/certification tools
Experience with US multi-state taxation, preferred
Experience with time recording, work schedules and remote/hybrid work rules
Ability to multi-task as a self-starter in a fast-paced, lean organizational environment with time sensitive deadlines and project support
Proven ability to work cross functionally and influence end to end transversal process changes
Comfortable with ambiguity and the need to create processes and procedures based on best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with executive presence and ability to influence and drive process improvement changes.
Strong excel and financial analysis skills and abilities, with strong attention to detail
Strong SOX internal control knowledge and experience
