Our client is looking for a Senior Financial Analyst of Financial Planning & Analysis and Internal Reporting, with a balance of talent in Financial Analytics, Budgeting, Internal Financial Reporting and Presentation Skills.
As a FP&A Senior Financial Analyst you will assist the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) group in the performance and coordination of the Company’s accounting, budgeting and financial reporting activities with all levels of management. The successful candidate will have strong analytical skills with a high degree of proficiency in data retrieval/manipulation, development of forecasting models and financial analyses. The candidate should possess the ability to work on projects with rapidly-evolving dynamics, and flexibility to readily adapt to changing business needs with a focus on generating results.

This role reports directly to the FP&A Manager.
What would I be doing?
- Assist in the preparation of quarterly budgets and the annual operating plan with the majority of focus on the organization’s operating expenses.
- Be a business liaison within the finance department collaborating with multiple departments/cost centers on reporting needs.
- Collaborate with cost center owners to project and analyze initiatives to drive expense efficiencies and other company initiatives.
- Assist the Finance group with preparation and review of quarterly and annual results, including periodic store and district reviews.
- Play a key role in the quarterly & yearly financial close process; responsible for tracking and reporting of results, consolidating and reporting variance analysis vs key comparatives to senior management.
- Build & maintain tools, analytics & reports using Cognos, MicroStrategy, Excel and/or financial systems to track and monitor key financial metrics.
- Identify opportunities to enhance existing reporting tools and models to streamline reporting to provide more insightful management information.
- Assist accounting with the quarterly close process including but not limited to accruals and data retrieval.
- Perform financial analyses and data mining for ad hoc special projects & communicate results.
What would make me qualified?
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance
- Minimum of 1 to 3 years work experience in a financial analysis capacity. Retail experience a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access)
- Experience in Oracle, MicroStrategy, Cognos and Tableau is a plus
