Why would I want this job?

This role is primarily responsible for general accounting primarily relating to the Company’s FCM.  This role is critical to our monthly close and control environment, as it relates to securing customer funds held by us. This role will have generalist accountant responsibilities, including close responsibilities, SOX responsibilities, and other areas as needed. This role will report to an Accounting Manager.

What would I be doing?

  • Daily and monthly reconciliations of various accounts, including those handling credit cards, wires, and checks. These reconciliations will be performed in a manner consistent with both Company policy and our Service Level Agreements with those who use the product.
  • Works closely on FCM accounting, including internal/external payout calculations, and business support analysis.
  • Independently prepares schedules and journal entries for cash and other areas.
  • Assists in researching, analyzing and reporting on issues that affect the company, making recommendations for solutions, and following through to resolution.
  • Ensures accounting integrity of corporate financial data by carrying out relevant internal controls, as well as by making recommendations for improvements in the control environment.
  • Prepares reports in a timely manner that is in compliance with GAAP and accurately reflect the financial status of the company.
  • Supports fixed asset processing and reporting.
  • Supports Accounts Payable function.
  • Works directly with both the regulatory reporting and treasury teams to ensure appropriate treatment of customer funds.

What would make me qualified?

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written
  • Experience with cash accounting and funding systems preferred
  • Experienced user of MS Excel
  • Strong accuracy in processing data
  • Self-starter who can demonstrate initiative and a willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • B.A. in Accounting or related field
  • Desired: 3-5 years accounting experience or related experience.
