The Technical Accounting Manager will serve as a technical accounting subject matter expert with respect to the company’s generally accepted accounting policies, and ensure quality and timeliness of financial guidance throughout the company’s finance organization

What would I be doing?

  • This Principal of Technical Accounting must be specialized in ASC 606 Revenue Recognition
  • Essential Key Responsibilities/Job Summary
  • Ensure compliance with revenue accounting policies and assist in resolving questions.
  • Perform detailed reviews and analysis of  Master Agreements and Contracts, which involve complex pricing formulae, to ensure that revenue is properly recorded and documentation is compliant with company’s pricing and contracts policies; lead complex revenue activities and work with outside auditors on significant and complex transactions, and to ensure that revenue is properly recorded.
  • Perform research on accounting, industry trends; assess the impact of revenue for the Company and write accounting conclusions/policies
  • Work closely with other functional teams on the implementation of accounting standards and recognition/reporting of complex revenue matters and transactions.
  • Provides insight into actionable financial information that is used to drive financial results; provides assessments of issues, perspectives on results, and recommendations to Senior Leadership
  • Ensure control environment reflects corporate policies and is compliant with US GAAP & Sarbanes Oxley requirements. Reviews and as appropriate implements and/or introduce financial controls to ensure the integrity of financial records
  • Coordinate with external auditors on technical accounting matters
  • Prepare and deliver presentations to facilitate firm-wide education of new or changing accounting requirements to ensure that management understands the impact of new standards and regulations

What would make me qualified?

  • 5 – 7 years of relevant experience with at least 4 years of experience in Big Four or national public accounting firms CPA and Bachelors Degree in Accounting required.
  • Experience with performing complex accounting research and technical activities, in particular ASC 606.
  • Strong and demonstrated leadership, collaboration and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including preparing technical memoranda and delivering presentations to senior executives
  • Strong analytical skills and leans towards challenging the status quo
  • Proficiency in the full suite of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word. PowerPoint and AccessAbility to work within a teaming/collaborative environment.
  • Strong self-starter with the ability to think creatively, solution unexpected issues and work independently to meet deadlines
